My approach has been developed from my years of training in complementary therapeutic approaches, mindfulness, and dual licensure as a practicing psychotherapist and trauma sensitive yoga facilitator. This approach can be defined in three parts: first is a practical approach, used to work on stress management, self-care and reminders of the power each of us have within. Secondly, somatic psychotherapy practices that include trauma sensitive mindfulness and trauma sensitive yoga, an empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Finally, an integrative therapeutic approach, that combines different yet complementary approaches that address complex trauma, dissociation and other trauma related challenges: EMDR psychotherapy, play, creative art expressions, trauma sensitive yoga (TCTSY), attachment focused therapy, and understanding of neurobiology, all powerful and effective. EMDR is now the core part of my practice because of its effectiveness and ability to help transform your life.
I use multiple assessments to determine your challenges, and work with you to determine the resources that will bring the change that you want to see in your life. My expertise is in working with people from diverse backgrounds, coping with various trauma and anxiety related problems, including post-traumatic stress disorder, history of complex trauma and adversity, anxiety, behavioral problems, and loss.
Offering embodied, accessible care within clinical and non-clinical settings, we work together to support you in your own healing. My life’s work is to continue to educate myself and share with others effective approaches that focus on the unique needs of people struggling with trauma to provide the best care possible.
